Global energy demand is real. And so are 100% renewable solutions to meet that demand.

At Earthworks, we’re focused on cleaning up the community, health and climate impacts of our energy footprint. Our history of holding both the energy and mining industries accountable for harm they cause uniquely positions us to Make Clean Energy Clean.

Our solutions work is focused on personal stories and opportunities for change, promoting sustainable solutions like metals recycling and solar panels and advocating for a cleaner supply chain in the metals economy.

Historically, our No Dirty Gold campaign advocates for better practices in the mining industry focused on jewelry. By removing toxic chemicals like cyanide and recycling end-of-life products we can move toward a more responsible industry.

Looking forward at the future of renewable energy we recognize that clean energy solutions also have their problems. Demand for rare earths and metals including copper could rise as a result of the transition to renewable energy. Earthworks research, expertise and advocacy helps navigate a complicated energy landscape during this critical and exciting transition.
